Psychologist Dr. Brad Powers joins Springfield behavioral health team

Springfield, MO – Please join us in welcoming Brad Powers, PsyD to the Behavioral Health team at OCH. Beginning June 9, he will see patients on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the OCH Medical Offices Clinic in Springfield.

Powers BradDr. Brad Powers can see adult patients and specializes in mood, anxiety and PTSD disorders. Additionally he holds a certificate in Primary and Behavioral Health Care Psychology. He can provide psychological assessments related to a variety of referral needs. He has provided psychological and mental health consultation service for the past 28 years.

In addition to working at OCH, Dr. Powers also serves as a psychological consultant to multiple law enforcement agencies in the region. He holds the position of Director of Underserved Populations (Primary Care Psychology) and Dean of the Doctoral Program at Forest Institute of Professional Psychology. Dr. Powers has 15 years of teaching experience as an Associate Professor. During this same time he was a clinical training supervisor responsible for the clinical care of patients seen by graduate providers in a variety of settings. He has taught doctoral level courses on a diversity of topics including suicide risk assessment and a variety of behavioral mental health related topics, as well as topics pertaining to law enforcement education and training. He has chaired or sponsored over 200 different mental health related research activities and served as faculty president in 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2013.

Dr. Powers received his doctorate of clinical psychology from the Forest Institute of Professional Psychology and his Masters in Counseling from the University of Nebraska. He serves on advisory boards for many agencies and organizations and has active professional memberships with the Missouri Psychological Association, International Association of Chiefs of Police and the Society for Police and Criminal Psychology. He can accept Medicaid, Medicare, UHC Military and OCH insurances.
